Health Minister reviews water drainage arrangements at LGH

LAHORE, Aug 01 (APP):Punjab Health Minister Khawaja Salman Rafique has announced that the government is continuously monitoring water drainage systems in major government hospitals in Lahore to ensure safety and convenience of patients. This statement was made during his visit to the Lahore General Hospital (LGH) on Thursday.
During the visit, the minister inspected various wards and assessed the hospital’s preparedness for rainwater drainage. He emphasised the importance of maintaining vigilance due to the heavy and continuous rainfall in the city. “The administration is on high alert to facilitate the citizens,” he said, adding that relevant departments have been instructed to be on standby for any necessary interventions.
The review included a thorough examination of both the medical facilities and the rainwater drainage systems at LGH. Principal Professor Sardar Al Fareed Zafar, MS Dr Farid Hussain, and staff from the Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) provided briefings on the current situation and measures in place.
The visit was also attended by Principal Amiruddin Medical College and General Hospital Professor Sardar Al Fareed Zafar, Deputy Secretary Waleed Baig, and SOG Jawad Pirzada from the Department of Specialized Healthcare and Medical Education. The officials assured the Minister of their commitment to ensuring the well-being of patients and hospital staff during the monsoon season.
