LAHORE, Jul 24 (APP):Punjab Health Minister Khawaja Salman Rafique has announced that the government is increasing the capacity of lab and collection centers in hospitals across the province.
The announcement was made during his surprise visit to the lab and collection centers at the Punjab Institute of Cardiology (PIC) and Services Institute of Medical Sciences (SIMS) here on Wednesday.
During his visit, the minister reviewed the medical facilities provided to patients in both labs. He emphasised the importance of enhancing these facilities to improve patient care. Provincial Health Minister and Health Secretary also interacted with patients at the PIC and SIMS lab and collection centers, inquiring about the quality of medical services they received.
Principal of SIMS, Prof. Zohra Khanam, Medical Superintendent of PIC, Dr. Shoaib Aslam, and Medical Superintendent of Services Hospital, Dr. Abdul Mudabar Reehan, briefed the Provincial Minister and Health Secretary on the current state of facilities and the planned improvements.
Secretary Health Punjab and Deputy Secretary Waleed Baig accompanied the minister on his visit.
