PESHAWAR, Oct 24 (APP):The Health Department Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in a letter to the Secretary Home and Tribal Affairs department has requested prompt action against the illegal occupation of Civil Hospital Saraghoa in South Waziristan district by police and legal action against the police personnel responsible.

The letter said that due to the illegal occupation of a vital healthcare facility, the services to the local community had been disrupted causing significant inconvenience to the patients and their families.

It said that the illegal occupation of a civil hospital was not only unlawful but also a violation of the right to healthcare, adding that the presence of armed personnel in the healthcare facility could cause distress to patients, disrupt medical procedures and compromise the safety of both the patients and medical staff.

It further said that such action not only raises concerns regarding the rule of law but also might lead to legal consequences for those involved in the occupation.

The health department requested the Secretary Home to intervene in the matter and ensure prompt vacation of the hospital by the police so that normal healthcare operations could be resumed.

It also urged a thorough investigation into the matter and legal action against the police personnel responsible for the illegal act.
