RAWALPINDI, May 16 (APP):The District Health Authority (DHA) Rawalpindi continued its intensive field engagement across the district with multiple monitoring visits, inspections and anti-dengue surveillance activities.
In this regard, an inspection was conducted at THQ Hospital Taxila on Saturday, where various departments including the emergency ward, pharmacy, blood bank, pediatric ward, male and female wards, X-ray unit and laboratory were inspected. The Medical Superintendent and staff were present as per duty roster, while nursing staff availability remained satisfactory. Cleanliness conditions were reported to be good, and the laboratory, X-ray department and emergency services were fully functional.
Officials said essential medicines were available and being dispensed within the hospital, while the Patient Management Information System (PMIS) and Electronic Medical Record (EMR) entries were being properly maintained. Patients’ feedback about the services was also found satisfactory.
Senior health officials led by CEO District Heath Authority, Dr. Ehsan Ghani visited the Chief Minister’s Health Screening Camp held from May 14 to 16 at THQ Hospital Gujar Khan.
The camp was reviewed in detail to assess service delivery, patient facilitation and availability of medical facilities, as part of ongoing efforts to ensure quality healthcare services under the directives of the Health and Population Department, Government of Punjab.
Meanwhile, Deputy District Health Officer Dr Hanan Javed Goreja carried out dengue surveillance monitoring in Dhoke Noor and Dhama Syedan, where he inspected high-risk areas where dengue cases had previously been reported and reviewed ongoing outdoor surveillance activities.
He directed teams to ensure strict monitoring and close supervision of both indoor and outdoor dengue teams, particularly in high-breeding locations. Instructions were also issued to intensify larval removal and enhance chemical spraying measures to prevent further spread of the virus.
District Health Officer (Preventive Services) Dr. Hafiz Jawad Zahid also visited Union Council 39, Taili Muhalla in Rawal Town on Saturday to review field operations. During the visit, he verified staff attendance and inspected both indoor and outdoor dengue surveillance spots.
All staff were found present and working according to the micro plan, he said, directing teams to properly record data of locked houses and ensure their revisits. He also instructed that special awareness activities be carried out at the union council level to enhance public awareness regarding dengue prevention.
The health authorities reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining vigilance and ensuring effective healthcare and disease prevention measures across Rawalpindi.
