SEHWAN Feb 17 (APP):The three-day celebrations of the 773rd Urs Mubarak of Hazrat Lal Shahbaz Qalandar (RA) commenced in Sehwan Sharif on Monday.
Acting Governor of Sindh and Speaker of the Sindh Assembly, Syed Owais Qadir Shah inaugurated Urs by laying a chadar at the shrine and offered Fateha at the shrine.
Provincial Minister for Auqaf Syed Riaz Hussain Shah Shirazi, Provincial Secretary Auqaf Sibghatullah Mehr, Divisional Commissioner Hyderabad Bilal Ahmed Memon, Deputy Commissioner Jamshoro Ghazanfar Ali Qadri, and SSP Jamshoro Muhammad Zafar Siddique Chhanga were also present.
Deputy Commissioner Ghazanfar Ali Qadri presented a commemorative shield to the Acting Governor.
The Acting Governor distributed clothes and gifts among poor and deserving women.
Talking to the media, he stated that prayers were offered for the country, nation, and Sindh. He emphasized that Sindh’s progress is crucial for the country’s Development.
Owais Qadir Shah praised the arrangements made by Provincial Minister Syed Riaz Hussain Shah Shirazi, Deputy Commissioner Ghazanfar Ali Qadri, and SSP Muhammad Zafar Siddique Chhanga.
He expressed hope for a successful and peaceful conclusion of the Urs Mubarak celebrations.
Compared to last year, the number of devotees has increased, Owais Qadir Shah noted. He also addressed various questions, including the Interior Minister’s statement on dumper accidents in Karachi and the Transport Minister’s instructions for vehicle inspections.
Owais Qadir Shah appealed to the Prime Minister to convene a meeting of the Council of Common Interests within 90 days, as per the Constitution. He also announced plans to write to the Chairman of the National Highway Authority regarding the delayed construction of the Indus Highway.
The Sindh government is actively raising its voice for public issues at every level, Owais Qadir Shah asserted.
