ABBOTTABAD, Sep 14 (APP):Additional Deputy Commissioner General Haripur Basharat Bibi has directed relevant departments to take coordinated measures to control industrial water pollution, protect groundwater and address public health concerns in Union Council Dingi, PK-48.
She issued the directives while chairing a meeting attended by officials and representatives of the Environment, Irrigation, Public Health, Health and other relevant departments.
The meeting reviewed issues related to declining groundwater levels, discharge of industrial wastewater, water pollution and its impact on public health.
The officials discussed measures to protect groundwater resources, prevent water contamination and ensure a clean and safe environment for local residents.
Additional Deputy Commissioner directed the concerned departments to ensure effective wastewater treatment and drainage systems at industrial units and make proper arrangements for the safe disposal of industrial waste.
She also called for strict implementation of environmental laws and regulations and directed officials to strengthen coordination and monitoring mechanisms to control pollution.
Basharat Bibi said that no compromise would be made on public health and environmental protection. She directed the departments concerned to take effective measures to control industrial pollution, protect groundwater and resolve public complaints.
