FAISALABAD, Nov 05 (APP):Railways Minister Hanif Abbasi lauded the business community particularly Mian Muhammad Idrees of Sitara Group for their pivotal role in the restoration and renovation of the historic Faisalabad Railway Station.
He termed their contribution a remarkable example of public–private partnership in preserving national heritage.
Speaking to the media after formally inaugurating the renovated station here on Wednesday, the minister said that he was personally grateful to Mian Muhammad Idrees for his unwavering support and commitment to the project.
“The restoration of this landmark building reflects the spirit of Faisalabad’s business community which has always stood by initiatives that promote the city’s development and enhance country’s image”, he added.
Hanif Abbasi highlighted that his association with Mian Muhammad Idrees spans over three decades nearly 30 to 35 years, during which the Sitara Group and the Idrees family have consistently played a significant role in the progress and prosperity of Faisalabad.
“Their dedication to social and infrastructural development has always been commendable and I am confident this partnership will continue to benefit the city in the years ahead”, he added.
The minister also briefed the journalists about ongoing reforms and initiatives for making Pakistan Railways a profitable and efficient national enterprise.
He also emphasized modernization, public–private collaboration and customer facilitation as key priorities under the current government’s agenda.
Former president Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FPCCI) Mian Muhammad Idrees, President Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry (FCCI) Farooq Yousaf Sheikh, Ejaz Hussain and several prominent political figures, senior administrative officers and industrial leaders of the city were also present on the occasion.
