Gwadar water supply efforts intensified amid ongoing crisis

GWADAR, Oct 31 (APP):In response to the escalating water crisis in Gwadar and its surrounding areas, the Balochistan government has directed multiple departments to intensify efforts to ensure consistent and equitable water distribution across the region.
According to official data, the following water provision initiatives have been implemented.
Shadi Kaur Dam supplied 1.05 million gallons of water to the city via pipeline.
GDA transported 1.098 million gallons of water to the Airport Pumping Station using 95 water bowsers from the Mirani Dam.
The GPA Desalination Plant supplied 1.051 million gallons of water to the residents of the Old Town.
Public Health Engineering (PHE) supplied 136,000 gallons of water to the areas of Chab Kalmati, Chab Rindkani, Ngor Sharif, and surrounding localities via 27 water bowser trips.
An additional 182,500 gallons of water was supplied from Kalato to Jiwani through 21 water bowser trips.
A total of 250,000 gallons of water was supplied via the Suntsar to Plerri pipeline, benefiting residents in the adjacent areas of Ganz, Pasni, and Pindwan.
According to the district administration, these water provision measures are part of an effort to meet public needs and bring the ongoing crisis in the city under control.
The district administration confirmed that these coordinated efforts are part of a broader strategy to address public needs and stabilize the water situation in the region.
Authorities continue to monitor supply operations to ensure timely delivery and crisis mitigation.
