QUETTA, Nov 06 (APP): Provincial Parliamentary Secretary for Social Welfare Haji Wali Muhammad Noorzai on Thursday said that the provincial government has decided to take strict measures to prevent drugs for interest of youth future.
He said that the Balochistan government has made decision to strengthen the coordination against drugs in all districts and seek help from the health department for rehabilitation centers for drug addicts saying that while the anti-drug operations would also have to be accelerated.
He said that the number of applicants for rehabilitation centers for drug addicts has increased significantly, similarly, legal action would be taken against those involved in supplying drugs in educational institutions and steps to be taken to punish them. However, assuring all possible support from the provincial government in the fight against drugs along with all the relevant institutions including the Anti-Narcotics Force, he said that our strong efforts could continue to prevent drugs.
The parliamentary secretary said that the campaign against drugs is ongoing and a zero-tolerance policy is being followed in this matter, since the Chief Minister Balochistan Mir Sarfraz Bugti has also issued instructions in various meetings to ensure the eradication of drugs.
Haji Wali Noorzai further said that this is a question of the survival of our new generation, however, all stakeholders against drugs would have to unite to achieve the best results.
He said that we could not afford any kind of delay against drugs, if we do not unite and fight against drugs in time, this curse could also knock on our doors.
He also directed that rehabilitation centers be activated on a permanent basis for elimination drugs.
