Governor stresses quality education, urges Gwadar & Turbat Universities to align with blue economy

QUETTA, Sep 21 (APP):Governor Balochistan Jaffar Khan Mandokhail has said that true success will be achieved when students of public sector universities feel that their talent, knowledge, and future are valued within their own homeland.

He emphasized that the province is striving to ensure that young people not only secure a better future for themselves but also contribute meaningfully to progress of the nation.

Speaking at the Governor House Quetta during a meeting with Vice Chancellor of Gwadar University Prof. Dr. Razaq Sabir and Vice Chancellor of Turbat University Prof. Dr. Gul Hassan, Governor Mandokhail noted that a Vice Chancellor is not merely the head of an institution but plays a pivotal role in shaping the future of the younger generation, advancing modern research, and guiding the intellectual direction of society. He added that through collective efforts, public universities in Balochistan have achieved higher standards in both quality and quantity, which is a source of pride for all.

Highlighting the province’s vast coastal belt, the Governor said that Balochistan holds immense economic and trade potential. He stressed that Gwadar and Turbat are not only strategically significant but also rich in opportunities related to the blue economy, maritime trade, fisheries, coastal management, and marine resources. He urged both universities to align their academic programs and research priorities with local economic needs and prepare students for modern fields such as marine sciences, fisheries trade, and coastal belt management.

Governor Jaffar Mandokhail further stated that in today’s world, human resources are more valuable than natural resources. If the youth are equipped with quality education, digital technology, and modern skills, Balochistan’s resources can be transformed into opportunities for employment, entrepreneurship, and prosperity.

He reaffirmed that his foremost priority is the promotion of quality education, and achieving this vision requires the full cooperation of all Vice Chancellors and relevant stakeholders.
