QUETTA, Jul 15 (APP):Governor Balochistan Shaikh Jaffar Khan Mondokhail on Monday called for taking stringent security measures for the peaceful conduct of Muharram gatherings.
In a statement issued here, the governor said that the provision of full security to mourning processions, Imambargahs and Majalis is the prime duty of the law enforcement agencies during the month of Muharram. He also urged the organizers of the mourning processions to keep close coordination with the security officials and district administration to avert any untoward incident.
“Public should also keep a vigil on the anti-peace elements,” the governor said, adding that responsible citizens must maintain peace and immediately inform police about any suspicious activities.
“We could expect that Youm-e-Ashura processions will conclude peacefully with foolproof security measures in place”, he hoped.
