He also commemorated Captain Col Sher Khan, Nishan-e-Haider, on the 27th anniversary of his martyrdom, describing the martyred soldiers as a source of pride for the nation.

He said the PPP leadership had made historic sacrifices for the restoration of democracy, the supremacy of the Constitution and the protection of public rights.
The governor said former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto sacrificed her life for democracy, while the PPP leadership and its workers endured hardships during their struggle against dictatorship.
Reaffirming the PPP’s commitment to the democratic process, he said the party would continue to play its role in strengthening democratic institutions. He also called on all political parties to actively participate in the political process and contribute positively to democratic stability.
