KOHAT, Jun 11 (APP)::Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi visited Azim Bagh, Kohat on Wednesday to offer condolences to the family of late former Senator Abbas Afridi.
During the visit, he met with the father of the deceased, former Senator Shamim Afridi, along with other bereaved family members.
Accompanying the Governor were Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Central Secretary General Nayyar Hussain Bukhari and PPP Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Provincial General Secretary Shuja Khanzada.
Governor Kundi and the PPP leadership expressed deep sorrow and sympathy over the tragic death of Abbas Afridi, describing it as an irreparable loss.
They offered fateha (prayers) for the departed soul, praying for his forgiveness and elevation of ranks in Jannat.
Speaking on the occasion, the Governor said that the incident was extremely tragic. He remembered Abbas Afridi as a wise statesman who genuinely cared for the people of his region.
“His contributions to national and regional politics will always be remembered,” Governor Kundi said.
Later, the Governor also visited the residence of the late Javed Iqbal Afridi, PPP’s District Information Secretary, who also passed away in the same tragic incident.
At his home in Ghulam Banda, Kohat, Governor Kundi offered condolences to the grieving family and prayed for the departed soul.
He extended heartfelt sympathies to the bereaved families and prayed for their strength and patience during this difficult time. “We stand with the families of the deceased in their grief,” the Governor said.
