Governor Kundi, German Ambassador discuss bilateral cooperation, development initiatives

PESHAWAR, Oct 30 (APP):German Ambassador to Pakistan, Ms. Ina Lepel, called on Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi at the Governor House, here on Thursday.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed matters of mutual interest, bilateral relations, trade and investment opportunities, and ways to enhance cooperation in various sectors.
The meeting also focused on Germany’s ongoing public welfare and development projects in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, as well as initiatives to strengthen people-to-people connections, empower youth and women, and address climate change challenges.
Governor Faisal Karim Kundi proposed the launch of a Pakistan-Germany joint project to restore and modernize the railway system in the province, particularly in Peshawar. He said that improving the railway infrastructure would boost tourism and facilitate trade and travel with Central Asian countries.
He emphasized that young people from the province should be given ample opportunities under German student exchange programs and highlighted that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa offers vast potential for investment in multiple sectors.
Ambassador Ina Lepel appreciated the province’s strategic location and natural beauty, saying that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa holds great significance.
She added that the people of Germany share a deep bond of affection with the people of Pakistan, including those of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
