PESHAWAR, Jun 23 (APP):Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi on Monday expressed deep concern over the termination of employees from the Social Welfare Department and the closure of drug rehabilitation centers operated under the department.
Calling the move regrettable, Governor Kundi criticized the provincial government for taking away jobs instead of creating employment opportunities.
“Shutting down institutions instead of improving their performance is not the right course of action,” he said.

“On one hand, jobs are being sold, while on the other, existing employees are being rendered jobless,” he added.
The Governor reiterated that the Pakistan Peoples Party and the Governor House stand in solidarity with the affected employees of the Social Welfare Department.
