PESHAWAR, Jul 04 (APP):Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Faisal Karim Kundi on Friday stressed the crucial role of the younger generation in tackling climate change, saying that the Governor House will actively contribute to raising awareness on the issue.
He expressed these views while speaking to a delegation of the National Youth Council Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, led by Tariq Shah. Other members of the delegation included Farishta Noor, Shahid Khan, Fatima Faraz, and Bushra Afridi.
Governor Kundi said that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has the highest proportion of youth in Pakistan, and emphasized that corruption and terrorism have significantly affected the province’s young population.
“The provincial government’s incompetence has deepened the sense of deprivation among our youth. Addressing this is one of my top priorities,” he said.
He further added that he is in contact with the Prime Minister of Pakistan to address the challenges facing the youth and underscored the need for effective action to meet their expectations.
Highlighting the plight of youth in the merged districts (formerly FATA), the Governor said that rising frustration among them is a serious concern, especially as they continue to be deprived of basic facilities.
