Governor assures Mohmand Dam affectees of taking up issues with authorities

PESHAWAR, Feb 23 (APP): Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi on Monday assured that issues of Mohmand Dam affectees and other tribal concerns would be taken up with the relevant authorities for resolution on a priority basis.
He was speaking to a jirga of Stanadar Qaumi Ittehad, led by Provincial General Secretary Asadullah of Utman Khel Qaumi Ittehad, which called on him at the Governor’s House here.
The jirga apprised the Governor of the problems being faced by the Stanadar tribe, particularly those related to affectees of the Mohmand Dam, including royalty matters and other outstanding issues.
The delegation demanded timely payment of dues to the affectees and urged that local residents be given priority in development projects.
Members of the jirga appreciated the Governor for keeping the doors of the Governor’s House open to the public and listening to citizens’ grievances. They lauded his public outreach and efforts aimed at resolving people’s issues.
Governor Faisal Karim Kundi said that matters relating to provincial departments and development affairs fall within the jurisdiction of the provincial government; however, he would convey the jirga’s concerns and demands to the relevant quarters.
He further assured that issues pertaining to federal departments would be pursued for early resolution.
Meanwhile, Governor Faisal Karim Kundi has reiterated that the private sector plays a key role in the province’s economic development and assured full support to address the concerns of the business community.
He was talking to former Senior Vice President of Sarhad Chamber of Commerce and Industry and noted businessman Haji Abdul Jalil Jan, who called on him at the Governor House.
During the meeting, matters relating to promotion of industrial and trade activities, investment opportunities, and issues faced by traders were discussed.
Haji Abdul Jalil Jan highlighted challenges including the tax system, energy crisis and law and order situation affecting businesses.
The Governor assured that the concerns of the business community would be taken up with the relevant authorities and that a conducive environment would be ensured to promote investment, adding that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is rich in natural and human resources and can be made economically strong through collective efforts.
