QUETTA, Jan 15 (APP):Governor Balochistan Jaffar Khan Mandokhel on Thursday announced a cash prize of Rs 100,000 each for the graduates who won gold medals in the third convocation of the University of Turbat, which caused a wave of joy among all the students of the university and the parents present there.
He expressed these views while addressing the participants of the third convocation of the University of Turbat.
Provincial Education Minister Raheela Hameed Khan Durrani, Planning Minister Mir Zahoor Ahmed Buledi, Member of National Assembly Pulain Baloch, Parliamentary Secretary Haji Barkat Rind, Vice Chancellor Gwadar University Prof. Dr. Abdul Razaq Sabir, Vice Chancellor Makran University Prof. Dr. Saadat Baloch, Secretary Higher Education Saleh Muhammad Baloch, faculty members and administrative officers of Turbat University, educationists, regional dignitaries, and a large number of university students were present on the occasion.
The Governor said that Turbat University has been playing a very important role in southern Balochistan since its establishment saying that Vice Chancellor Dr. Gul Hassan and his entire team deserve tribute for providing the light of higher education to thousands of youth and bringing positive change in the society through modern education.
He said that this is the only university in Pakistan where 59 percent of female students are benefiting, it is very gratifying that Turbat University has created a proud name and position at the national level in a short period of time.
“All the government universities of the province are the foundations on which a modern and technologically strong society can be easily built”, he said.
The Governor said that today we are not gathered here for just a formal ceremony, but this is a milestone that is the result of the academic excellence, strong determination and tireless efforts of our graduating graduates for education.
He mentioned that convocation is not just about distributing degrees, but it is an important opportunity for our youth to fulfill their dreams and step into practical life.
He highlighted that the development of this university is proof that geographical distance could never be a barrier to talent and intelligence adding that in a modern society, the purpose of education is not only personal gain or employment, but its real purpose is also to promote the values of tolerance, peace and human dignity in the society, you are entering an era where technology is changing at a rapid pace.
Governor Mandokhel expected that you would use the digital skills, critical thinking and high values acquired here to solve social and economic problems.
He noted that the graduating graduates that you should become ambassadors of peace and pioneers of development, remember, education is the only way that could empower the youth and guarantee peace, development and prosperity in Balochistan.
I pay tribute to Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Gul Hassan and his entire team for the successful organization of this convocation, bringing quality education to the doorstep of every student in a remote area like Turbat was a difficult step in which your success is commendable, he stated.
He explained that the current government is fully committed to the promotion of higher education in Balochistan, we are taking serious steps to resolve the financial and administrative problems faced by our public sector universities.
The Governor said that at present, there is a dire need to establish a state-of-the-art Artificial Intelligence Center in Turbat University, after its establishment, the students of southern Balochistan would be able to compete in the field of modern technology.
He finally congratulated the graduating graduates once again and appreciated the conscious efforts of the entire team of the University of Turbat for organizing a successful convocation.
Earlier, the Governor of Balochistan handed over the keys of the bus for the students of Buleda to the Vice Chancellor, planted a tree in the university courtyard and inaugurated the Senate Hall of Turbat University.
It should be noted that in the third convocation of the University of Turbat, Governor Jaffar Khan Mandokhel distributed certificates to 765 graduates and 24 MPhils and gold medals were awarded to those who performed outstandingly.
