RAWALPINDI, Jul 01 (APP):Punjab Arts Council in collaboration with Auraq Publications organized a ceremony to launch famous poet Khalid Siddiqui’s book “Ghazliat-e-Khalid”.
The event was presided over by famous poet Naseem Sahar while Shakeel Akhtar, Shahid Masood and Farkhanda Shamim participated as special guests.
Naseem Sahar in his address said that Khalid Siddiqui was strongly connected with the classical tradition of ghazal for being a cultural capital. He has also studied the genre of ghazal in depth due to which the traditional themes and subjects appear in his ghazal with a new style, he said adding subjects are connected with the ancient and modern era.
Director of the PAC Sajjad Hussain said that Khalid Siddiqui was an artist who excelled in the art of extracting moisture from dry sand, who used artificial intelligence in arts even when this concept was not so popular. The book reader will feel the simplicity and ease of real communication, which is a difficult task in poetry, he added.
At the end of the ceremony, Sana Parvez and Parvez sang Ghazliat Khalid.
