FAISALABAD, Oct 22 (APP):A four-member mission of German Bank KFW called on Managing Director Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) and discussed the proposed project worth 40 million euros at his office here on Wednesday.
The KFW mission was led by Head of Division Infrastructure and Finance Mr. Torsten Jellestad while Deputy Managing Director Engineering Saqib Raza, Deputy Managing Director O&M Muhammad Maqbool Sanpal, Director Operations Makhdoom Babar and other officers were also present.
MD WASA said that German Bank KFW will undertake a mutual climate resistance project with WASA under which 15 tube wells will be restored and 7 new tanks will be constructed, in addition to shifting Gulfshan Water Works to a modern rapid science filter.
He added that KfW has completed site visits and the project is expected to be formally launched in the middle of next year, at a total cost of 40 million euros.
The Managing Director said that the KFW project will significantly increase and further improve water supply to citizens.
