SIALKOT, Feb 24 (APP):The students of Government College Women University Sialkot (GCWUS) achieved a remarkable milestone as they received laptops and scholarships under the Government of Punjab’s student support initiatives.
As per release of the varsity on Tuesday, the distribution ceremony for the Gujranwala Division was held at University of Gujrat, where students were recognized for their academic excellence and potential.
During the ceremony, 514 female students of GCWUS were awarded laptops under the Chief Minister’s Laptop Scheme, while 160 students received financial assistance through the Honhaar Scholarship Program. These initiatives were aimed at empowering students, particularly female scholars, by providing them with the digital tools and financial support necessary to excel in their academic and professional journeys.
The availability of laptops will significantly enhance the learning experience of female students at GCWUS. With access to modern technology, students could improve their research skills, participate in online learning opportunities, and develop digital competencies essential in today’s knowledge-based economy. For many students, especially those from diverse socio-economic backgrounds, these laptops serve as a gateway to new academic opportunities and innovation.
Similarly, the Honhaar Scholarships play a vital role in supporting talented students by reducing financial barriers and encouraging them to continue their higher education with confidence. On this occasion, the Vice Chancellor of GCWUS, Prof Dr Shazia Bashir, congratulated the students and highlighted the significance of these initiatives for female education. She expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Government of Punjab and the Chief Minister for supporting the students of GCWUS through the Laptop Scheme and Honhaar Scholarships.
