GCWUS launches student-led publishing platform ‘Meridian’
SIALKOT, Jun 27 (APP):Government College Women University Sialkot (GCWUS) on Saturday launched Meridian,a student-led publishing and creative marketplace platform developed by the Department of English.
According to a university statement,Vice Chancellor(VC),Prof.Dr.Shazia Bashir attended the launch ceremony as chief guest and lauded the initiative,saying it reflects the creativity and dedication of both students and faculty in integrating literature with innovation and entrepreneurship.
She said platforms like Meridian create opportunities for young writers and creative entrepreneurs to transform ideas into viable projects.
The VC added that the university was committed to promoting an ecosystem where academic excellence,innovation and entrepreneurial skills move hand in hand.
She appreciated the Department of English for encouraging students to develop practical,technology-driven solutions that extend learning beyond the classroom.
The launch of Meridian was aimed at promoting independent publishing,supporting emerging writers and expanding opportunities in the digital creative economy.
