FAISALABAD, Jun 23 (APP):Government College Women University Faisalabad (GCWUF) has inaugurated the 6th Fashion Design Thesis Display at Lyallpur Galleria which highlighted the creative excellence and innovative potential of young female designers from the Department of Fashion and Textile Design.
GCWUF Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Kanwal Amin and renowned textile industrialist Amina Khurram jointly inaugurated the event and later visited a wide range of student exhibits including fashion collections, thesis displays, textile designs, garments, creative artwork and various design-based stalls.
They highly appreciated the creativity, innovation, hard work and professional quality demonstrated by the female students, terming the showcased work highly impressive and reflective of strong artistic and technical skills.
Speaking on the occasion, GCWUF Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Kanwal Amin said that such academic and creative events are essential as they not only boost student confidence but also provide them with a practical platform to demonstrate their capabilities. She said that strong participation of the university, industry stakeholders and civil society reflected that students’ creativity and dedication were highly valued and would help bridge the gap between academia and the professional industry.
She expressed hope that such initiatives would open new avenues for young designers in fashion, textile and related fields, enabling them to excel in the competitive market.
Guest of honor Amina Khurram also praised the students’ work, describing it as being of high quality and said that Pakistani youth possess immense creative potential which can be globally recognized through proper guidance and industrial collaboration.
She said that strong university-industry linkages play a vital role in producing successful professionals, while such exhibitions significantly enhance students’ confidence, practical exposure and professional skills.
A large number of faculty members, students, industry representatives, civil society members, media personnel and other distinguished guests also attended the ceremony and appreciated the creative efforts of the participating students.
