FAISALABAD, Dec 16 (APP):Government College University Faisalabad (GCUF) on Tuesday organized a prayer and condolence ceremony along with a solidarity walk to commemorate the martyrs of the Army Public School (APS), Peshawar.
Directorate of Student Affairs GCUF arranged the event to honor sacrifices of the martyrs and express solidarity with their families.
Deans, directors, chairpersons of various departments, faculty members and students participated in the walk in large numbers.
The participants offered special prayers for the eternal peace of the martyrs and for peace and stability in the country.
Addressing the ceremony, GCUF Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Rauf -I-Azam said that the APS Peshawar tragedy was a deep wound that could never be healed. He said the sacrifice of the APS martyrs was not limited to one institution or city but was a collective legacy of the entire nation, which would be remembered for generations to come.
The vice chancellor added that the nation’s resolve against terrorism would never weaken.
He urged students to carry forward the mission of the martyrs through education, research and character-building, and to become ambassadors of knowledge and peace.
