LAHORE, Oct 07 (APP):Government College University (GCU) Lahore has completed a new block at the Ruth Pfau Girls Hostel, expanding accommodation capacity and enhancing facilities for female students.
Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Muhammad Omer Chaudhry announced that the expansion adds 79 new seats, bringing the total capacity to 282 residents.
The upgraded hostel now comprises 48 dormitories and 14 tri-seater rooms, along with a superintendent’s residence, dining hall, prayer area, visitor’s lounge, administrative offices, cafeteria, common room, and both indoor and outdoor recreational spaces.
In line with GCU’s commitment to sustainability, the facility features a 100 kV solar power system, making it a green building. Additionally, a 250 kVA generator ensures uninterrupted power supply.
With these additions, the Ruth Pfau Girls Hostel is now fully functional, offering modern amenities and a secure residential environment for GCU’s female students.
