LOWER DIR , Jul 16 (APP):A monsoon fruit tree plantation campaign was launched in the sub-division Adenzai here as part of the provincial government’s green initiative.
The drive was inaugurated under the special directives of Deputy Commissioner Lower Dir, Muhammad Arif Khan.
Assistant Commissioner Adenzai, Saleem Ayubi, along with Additional Assistant Commissioner Adenzai, Chairman Malakand Board, SDFO Adenzai, and Assistant Director NCHD Lower Dir, participated in the campaign.
Saplings of various species were planted at BISE Malakand and the Fishing Hut in Chakdara.
Media representatives also took part in the event, helping spread the message to the general public about the importance of tree plantation during the monsoon season.
The campaign aims to encourage citizens to plant as many fruit-bearing and shade trees as possible to help combat air pollution and reduce the impact of climate change.
Meanwhile, on the directives of Deputy Commissioner, an open court was held at the TMA Office in Khal under the supervision of Assistant Commissioner Timergara, Zaid Safi.
A separate meeting on local electricity issues was convened at the office of Tehsil Chairman Khal, Akhunzada Ashfaqur Rahim, led by Khal Committee head Akhunzada Sikandar Hazrat.
Participants raised concerns over low voltage, staff shortages, frequent load shedding, and repeated line faults.
XEN assured full cooperation and promised immediate resolution of low voltage and staff deployment issues, along with further efforts to address other electricity-related problems.
