French woman facing domestic abuse rescued with four children in Khyber

PESHAWAR, Jun 22 (APP):A French woman, identified as Sylvie Yasmina was rescued along with her four children during a police raid in Khyber District after reportedly being subjected to domestic violence.
According to CCPO Mian Saeed on Monday, the woman had married a Pakistani citizen and had been living in Bara since 2014. Police said she had allegedly been facing abuse and mistreatment by her husband and was not allowed to leave the house.
The rescued woman and her four children have been shifted to the Women Police Station in Peshawar for protection and assistance.
Police officials stated that the woman has expressed her desire to return to France. In response, a formal communication has been sent to the French Embassy through the Foreign Office to facilitate the necessary arrangements.
A case has been registered against the woman’s husband and further investigation and legal proceedings are underway.
