MULTAN, Nov 17 (APP): A unique initiative titled “Kher Ka Safar” has been launched in the city to support the underprivileged and labor communities affected by the harsh winter conditions.
The campaign kicked off at the General Bus Stand, where free warm clothing is being distributed to deserving citizens. Commissioner Amir Kareem Khan inaugurated the drive, emphasizing that the project aims to provide warm clothing—such as jackets, shawls, and sweaters—to needy men and women, regardless of background or status.
The inauguration was attended by the Deputy Commissioners of Multan, Lodhran, and Khanewal, along with political figures like Dr. Akhtar Malik and Javed Akhtar Ansari, and local social leaders. The Commissioner, joined by philanthropists and officials, symbolically cut the ribbon and released balloons to mark the start of the initiative. He personally handed out clothing items to individuals in need.
Commissioner Amir Kareem Khan highlighted that the initiative reflects the provincial government’s commitment to compassion and humanitarian service. He assured that warm clothing would be provided daily to protect vulnerable citizens from the severe cold.
He also pointed out that the welfare bazaar, part of the campaign, would offer immediate relief to poor and labor families, helping daily wage earners save their hard-earned money. The role of philanthropists in supporting the project was praised as integral to its success.
Citizens expressed their appreciation for the initiative, calling it a model effort that others should replicate to help those in need during difficult times.
