RAWALPINDI, May 31 (APP):Ahead of Eid-ul-Adha, the Livestock Department Rawalpindi has set up special veterinary camps across the city to ensure the health and safety of sacrificial animals.
Dr. Sadia Ali, an official from the department, shared that the largest number of animals has arrived at Bhatta Chowk Mandi, which is now the biggest animal market in Rawalpindi.
Teams from the Livestock Department are available at these camps 24 hours a day. They are offering free medical treatment for sick animals and spraying them to protect against ticks.
“So far, we have treated over 100 animals and sprayed more than 1,200,” said Dr. Sadia. She also advised that the recent changes in weather can affect the health of animals, and owners should consider adding jaggery and “vanda” (a type of animal feed) to their diet to keep them strong.
The Livestock department urged people not to rely on home remedies if their animals fall sick.
Instead, they should visit the nearest veterinary camp for proper treatment.
These camps have been set up to help both animal sellers and buyers ensure their animals stay healthy ahead of the Eid festivities.
