Four-year registration,revised fee structure proposed for private schools
LAHORE, Sep 28 (APP):A proposal to revise the registration period and fee structure for private schools was under consideration,under which schools may be registered for four years with fees linked to their monthly tuition charges,here on Monday.
According to the proposed regulations,a school charging a monthly tuition fee of Rs.1,500 would pay a registration fee of Rs.10,000,while schools charging up to Rs.2,500 per month would be required to pay Rs.20,000.
Similarly,a registration fee of Rs.50,000 has been proposed for schools charging up to Rs.5,000 per month while schools with a monthly fee of Rs.10,000 would pay Rs.100,000.
Under the proposed fee structure, schools charging Rs.20,000 per month would pay a registration fee of Rs.200,000, whereas a fee of Rs.1 million has been proposed for schools charging more than Rs.20,000 per month.
Sources said schools would be issued registration for four years upon payment of the prescribed fee.
Upon renewal of registration and issuance of a new license,schools would be required to pay 50 percent of the prescribed registration fee,according to the proposal.
Meanwhile,a proposal seeking approval from the Cabinet Committee for new rules and regulations governing the registration of private schools was also under consideration.
The proposed registration procedures and revised fee structure would be implemented after approval by the competent authority.
