SARGODHA, Oct 17 (APP):The four-day national anti-polio drive in Sargodha district concluded successfully, achieving 97pc of its set target. Over 686,000 children were administered polio drops during the campaign which ran from October 13 to 16.
This was announced during a concluding meeting chaired by Deputy Commissioner (DC) Capt (R) Muhammad Waseem on Friday. The meeting reviewed the overall performance and achievements of the campaign.
The DC was informed that the initial target was to vaccinate 709,000 children in the district. Health teams showed remarkable performance across all tehsils to get closer to the target. All four Union Councils also successfully passed the post-campaign survey.
DC Muhammad Waseem praised the polio teams, health department officials, and other partner organizations for their excellent work. He specifically commended CEO Health Dr. Saira Safdar, DHO Dr. Shehzad Gill, and CEO Education Kulsoom Mansha, along with civil society members, NGOs, and volunteers for their dedication.
“The relentless efforts of our teams and the full cooperation of the public have made this national duty a success in Sargodha,” the DC stated. He also extended special thanks to the heads and teachers of public and private educational institutions for their full cooperation in administering polio drops to children at schools.
The deputy commissioner expressed his resolve to continue working with the same spirit to ensure the complete eradication of polio from the country.
