PESHAWAR, Nov 06 (APP):In a new development in by-election for the NA-18 Haripur, four candidates have withdrawn their nomination papers.
According to the provincial Spokesperson for the Election Commission on Thursday, the candidates who have stepped back include Sardar Muhammad Mushtaq Khan, Sardar Abdul Rauf Khan, Syed Muhammad Sabir Shah and Muhammad Khamid Shah.
Following their withdrawal, the contest will now take place among nine remaining candidates. Those still in the race are Erum Fatima, Asad Usman, Babar Nawaz Khan, Khurshid Anwar Khan, Rustam Khan, Syed Ali Zawar Hussain, Sheherbaz Umar Ayub, Abdul Shakoor and Muhammad Anwar.
The spokesperson said, election symbols will be allotted to candidates soon and polling is scheduled for November 23. The competition is expected to be intense among the remaining contenders.
