HYDERABAD, Aug 13 (APP): On the eve of the 77th Independence Day, the Forest Department Matiari organized events to promote awareness about environment and conservation.
The first event was inaugurated by the Deputy Commissioner Matiari, Muhammad Yousuf Shaikh and Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Syed Asghar Shah here Tuesday. The event featured the free distribution of 1000 plant saplings among the general public, with the aim of spreading awareness about the benefits of trees.
Divisional Forest Officer Sanaullah Buledi and other officers were present during the ceremony, which took place near the Government Gegree College Matiari.
According to a handout, the second program is scheduled to initiate a riverine forest plantation drive in district Matiari on Independence Day. This initiative is part of the government’s plan to revive the district’s forests and will be carried out in two phases. The event will be attended by all district heads of different departments.
