Food authority’s crackdown results in Rs. 89,000 fines in Chiniot

CHINIOT, Nov 7 (APP): Punjab Food Authority (PFA) Chiniot, continued its operations against adulteration and counterfeit mafias in Chiniot district, carrying out 114 inspections.
According to PFA spokesman, these inspections resulted in fines amounting to Rs. 89,000 for violations of food safety laws.
Several grocery stores and food points were checked, revealing poor sanitation, faulty drainage, and the use of prohibited ingredients. Workers’ medical screening certificates were also found to be missing at some establishments.
Over 5 kilograms of expired products, 5 kilograms of rotten fruits, and 6 liters of expired soft drinks were destroyed during the operations.
Additionally, to check milk quality, 4,200 liters of milk from 46 milk carriers and multiple milk shops were tested.
