LOWER DIR, Jan 09 (APP):The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Food Safety and Halal Food Authority has intensified its monitoring activities across the district by collecting samples from DHQ Hospital Timergara and conducting inspections of restaurants across various areas of Tehsil Timergara.
Acting on the directives of Director General Food Authority, Wasif Saeed, food safety teams collected water samples from DHQ Hospital Timergara and sent them to the laboratory to ensure the provision of safe and hygienic food for patients and their attendants.
The team also inspected food businesses operating within and around the hospital premises.
During the operation, food safety laws were thoroughly reviewed at several fast food outlets and restaurants.
One restaurant was fined for poor hygiene conditions, while owners were issued strict instructions to implement the authority’s standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Water samples used in food preparation were also collected from restaurants and sent to the state laboratory to ensure safety at all stages of food processing.
In addition, expired licenses were renewed, new food businesses were geo-tagged, and fresh licenses were issued as part of ongoing data collection and regulatory efforts.
The authority reiterated its commitment to ensuring safe, hygienic, and quality food for the public and vowed to continue inspections and enforcement actions across the district.
