Flood relief package distribution to start in Lodhran on October 24

LODHRAN, Oct 22 (APP):In line with the directives of Punjab Chief Minister, Maryam Nawaz Sharif, flood relief package disbursement among flood victims would be started in Lodhran district from October 24.
The ceremony for the distribution of relief package will be held at the Sports Complex Lodhran, while Provincial Minister Mujtaba Shuja-ur-Rehman would grace the event as the chief guest.
A meeting to review arrangements for the event was chaired by Deputy Commissioner Dr. Lubna Nazir in the Committee Room. The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) Syed Waseem Hassan Shah, Assistant Commissioners, and officers from relevant departments.
During the meeting, officers were assigned tasks related to branding of the venue, cleanliness, patchwork, water availability, and transportation arrangements. The Deputy Commissioner emphasized that the promise made by the Chief Minister to assist flood-affected families was now being fulfilled.
“To ensure maximum participation, transport services will be provided by the district administration to bring victims to the event,” said Dr. Lubna Nazir. “All departments must ensure excellent arrangements for the affected citizens.”
The financial assistance will be provided to verified victims through ATM cards issued by the Bank of Punjab. Lists of eligible recipients will be shared with Assistant Commissioners for coordination.
Briefing the attendees, ADCR Syed Waseem Hassan Shah said that once the ATM cards are received, they will be promptly distributed to the beneficiaries. He added that relief distribution event will be held in tehsil Kehror Pacca, on November 5.
The distribution process is based on data gathered through surveys and will be biometrically verified before disbursement. To facilitate the process, special help desks will be established by the District Administration and Bank of Punjab to guide the beneficiaries.
