GUJRAT, Oct 22 (APP):The Gujrat police, under the supervision of DSP Sadar Circle Ghazi Asif Ali, carried out successful operations against gamblers and a drug peddler in different areas of the district.
According to a police spokesman, acting on the directions of District Police Officer (DPO) Rana Umar Farooq, a special crackdown against criminal elements is underway across the district.
During a raid conducted by SHO City Jalalpur Jattan Inspector Syed Mubarak Hussain on a tip-off, four gamblers were arrested red-handed. Police recovered Rs31,300 in stake money, playing cards, and two bottles of liquor from their possession. The arrested accused were identified as Bilal Munir, Adnan, Riaz, and Jawad, all residents of Jalalpur Jattan.
Meanwhile, SHO Sadar Jalalpur Jattan Shafqat Hussain, along with his team, arrested a drug peddler identified as Ajmal Hussain of Dhallu Sharqi and recovered 560 grams of charas from his possession.Cases have been registered against the accused, and further investigation has started.
