LAHORE, Sep 24 (APP): Governor Punjab Muhammad Balighur Rehman has said that belief in the oneness of Allah (Tauheed) and finality of Prophet hood of Hazrat Muhammad (PBHU) as the last Prophet of Allah is integral part of Muslim faith.
Addressing the Annual Khatm-e-Nabuwat (PBUH) Conference at Aiwan-e-Iqbal here on Sunday, he said an iota of doubt in this belief was enough to exclude one from the circle of Islam.
Governor Punjab said Allah Subhanahu wa ta’ala sent Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) to the world as a mercy for all the humanity, and ended the chain of Prophet hood after him.
He said the life and teachings of Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) was the source of guidance for all mankind till the Day of Judgment.
Governor Punjab added that no Muslim can compromise on the honour of Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH).
Muhammad Baligur Rehman said during the Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N) 2013 and 2018 tenure, a bill was passed to teach recitation and translation of the Holy Quran compulsory to the Muslim children.
He said that in our religion, great emphasis has been placed on high morals and character building.
He said, under his directions as chancellor, special attention was being paid to the character building of students in the universities.
Governor Punjab said “our religion prohibits believing what we hear and spreading it further without verification, adding that we should adopt the habit of research and should not believe in unverified news”
A large number of religious scholars, including JUI (F) Chief Maulana Fazalur Rahim, Allama Shabbir Usmani and Maulana Abdul Rauf Makki were conspicuous among the speakers at the conference.
