ISLAMABAD, Oct 16 (APP):The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Anti-Corruption Circle Islamabad arrested a proclaimed offender involved in large-scale forgery of land records, depriving a citizen of property worth more than Rs700 million.
An FIA official told APP on Thursday that the accused, identified as Raja Samar Mukhtar, had been wanted for corruption, fraud, forgery, and tampering with official records. He was taken into custody after his pre-arrest bail was cancelled.
According to investigators, the accused, in collusion with revenue department officials, fraudulently altered land records by changing Mutation No. 4475 to 4490, unlawfully transferring ownership of 24 kanals of valuable land.
The official said that the FIA had collected evidence confirming the role of the accused in manipulating the revenue record. The suspect was handed over to the Anti-Corruption Circle for further investigation.
The FIA spokesperson added that strict action will continue against individuals involved in fraud, forgery, and corruption to protect citizens from financial crimes.
