MULTAN, Jan 03 (APP):The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on Saturday arrested four individuals involved in the illegal deduction of funds from the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP).
According to spokesperson,Mudassir Iqbal,Muhammad Akasha,Mazhar Hussain and Shehyar Ahmed were apprehended in Karor Pakka and Lodhran while they were allegedly extorting between Rs.1000 to 1500 from the accounts of deserving women under the guise of “commission.”
The authorities seized a large number of ID cards,mobile phones,electronic devices,registers and other key records during the operation,which revealed the scale of the fraud.
The accused have been booked under anti-corruption laws,an investigation was underway to uncover the full extent of their activities.
