LAHORE, Nov 01 (APP):The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Lahore Zone has intensified its crackdown on human traffickers, arresting three suspects, including two proclaimed offenders (PO), in a series of targeted operations.
According to the FIA spokesperson, the arrests were made by the FIA Anti-Human Trafficking Circle Lahore. The apprehended suspects were identified as Zohaib Maqbool, Saifullah, and Kashif Mehmood, who were caught during raids conducted in Lahore, Faisalabad, and Layyah.
Suspect Zohaib Maqbool, wanted in two cases by FIA Lahore for a long time, allegedly defrauded citizens by offering fake overseas employment opportunities. He was a former NADRA employee, dismissed from service for illegally processing the data of an Afghan national.
Another accused, Saifullah, is reported to have embezzled large sums of money from a citizen by promising a Qatar work visa, while Kashif Mehmood deceived a citizen with a fake job offer in Saudi Arabia.
All three suspects had gone into hiding after failing to send citizens abroad as promised. The FIA has initiated further investigation, and efforts are underway to trace their accomplices, the spokesperson said.
