FESCO starts collecting consumers’ data through CNIC scanning

FAISALABAD, Oct 08 (APP):Faisalabad Electric Supply Company (FESCO) has launched a vigorous campaign to improve Customer Services and in this connection, customers’ data is being collected through scanning of CNIC barcodes and verification of accurate mobile numbers to ensure provision of efficient and timely services to electricity consumers.
FESCO spokesperson Engr. Muhammad Saeed Raza said here on Wednesday that main objective of this initiative is to link all electricity connections with genuine consumers’ National Identity Cards, thereby establishing a reliable and verifiable customer database.
This step would not only enhance FESCO’s operational transparency but also ensure accuracy of consumer information and facilitate better service delivery to them, he added.
He said that the campaign is being carried out on the instructions of FESCO Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Engr. Muhammad Aamer.
He said that FESCO teams are collecting accurate data related to electricity connections, which includes scanning the barcodes of customers’ CNICs and updating their correct mobile numbers in the company’s records.
He further said that consumers can also verify their CNIC details and update their mobile numbers and email addresses through FESCO’s official website. www.fesco.com.pk.
Highlighting objectives of the campaign, he said that it would help ensure accurate CNIC records of consumers in the FESCO system, along with identifying whether the registered user is the owner or tenant of the premises.
He said that this initiative would also enable FESCO to provide consumers with timely and accurate meter reading notifications, feeder shutdown schedules, improved communication between consumers & company and prompt service delivery. It would also help in the timely redressal of customer complaints, he added.
Engr. Saeed Raza said that this special campaign is designed for public convenience and provide them state-of-the-art Customer Services.
He appealed to consumers to keep their original CNICs available at home on the day of meter reading to facilitate barcode scanning by the FESCO meter reader.
The consumers are advised to share their information only after confirming the identity of FESCO meter reader and should never hand over their CNICs to unauthorized individuals, he advised.
He assured that all consumer data would be kept completely secure and confidential.
He urged the consumers to fully cooperate with FESCO staff and take advantage of modernized and improved service facilities.
