FAISALABAD, Jul 07 (APP):Faisalabad Electric Supply Company (FESCO) has recovered millions of rupees in revenue through a robust anti-power theft campaign in Khanuana Subdivision.
FESCO spokesman said here on Monday that FESCO Inspector Usman Chaudhry led the crackdown and during past three months, he apprehended more than 50 individuals involved in electricity theft. Legal proceedings were initiated against them, leading to the registration of 55 FIRs, he added.
He said that fines amounting to approximately Rs. 5 to 6 million were also imposed and subsequently deposited into the national treasury. He said that Inspector Usman Chaudhry’s performance has been widely praised within FESCO for his proactive and uncompromising stance against electricity pilferage.
Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO) Rana Makhdoom also lauded dedication of Inspector Usman Chaudhry and encouraged him to continue efforts of similar vigor.
He emphasized the importance of such actions and said that it is not only curbing power theft but also helping in improving service delivery to legitimate consumers.
Meanwhile, XEN Jaranwala Asad Ali Shah also commended the operations and reaffirmed the department’s commitment to using all available resources to crack down on electricity thieves.
He said that eliminating power theft is vital to protect the organization’s financial interests in addition to ensuring fair access to electricity for all paying customers.
Both officials expressed their resolve to continue these indiscriminate operations in the future and reiterated their determination to uphold the integrity and reputation of FESCO through strict action against violators.
