FESCO completes 93,726 structure earthings, clears 183 hazard points to strengthen public safety

FAISALABAD, Feb 14 (APP):The Faisalabad Electric Supply Company (FESCO) has completed the earthing of 93,726 LT and HT structures and transformer substations across its region with a total cost of Rs.1,188 million in addition to clearing 183 hazardous points with an additional expenditure of Rs.72.71 million to ensure public safety and uninterrupted electricity supply.
FESCO Spokesman Muhammad Saeed Raza said that acting on the special directives of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) FESCO Engineer Muhammad Aamir, the company accelerated measures to strengthen power distribution system, prevent accidents and eliminate dangerous points.
He said that out of the total 93,726 structures earthed, 50,390 were High Tension (HT) and 43,336 were Low Tension (LT) structures, accounting for 53.77 percent and 46.23 percent respectively of the overall work completed.
Providing a circle-wise breakdown, he said that FESCO First Circle completed earthing of 26,233 structures including 16,172 LT and 10,061 HT. Second Circle earthed 17,057 structures comprising 9,210 LT and 7,847 HT. Jhang Circle completed 10,498 structures including 4,936 LT and 5,562 HT. Sargodha Circle recorded the highest number with 23,640 structures including 13,909 HT and 9,731 LT. Mianwali Circle completed 11,804 structures comprising 7,282 LT and 4,522 HT while Toba Tek Singh Circle earthed 4,494 structures including 2,116 LT and 2,378 HT.
Similarly, FESCO cleared 183 hazardous points at a cumulative cost of Rs.72.71 million to protect lives and property. The First Circle removed 26 dangerous points at a cost of Rs.11.60 million; Second Circle cleared 47 at Rs.17.56 million; Jhang Circle eliminated 12 at Rs.7.94 million; Toba Tek Singh Circle removed 18 at Rs3.59 million; Sargodha Circle cleared 23 at Rs.11.1 million and Mianwali Circle removed the highest 57 hazardous points with an estimated cost of Rs.21.01 million whereas on average, the cost of per hazardous point stood at approximately Rs.0.397 million.
The spokesman said that these steps aimed to prevent electrocution incidents and promote an “injury-free culture” in the region.
