LAHORE, Jun 10 (APP): Pakistan Furniture Council (PFC) Chief Executive Officer Mian Kashif Ashfaq on Tuesday welcomed the Federal Budget 2025–26, stating that the announced measures aim to capitalize on Pakistan’s unique craftsmanship and are aligned with the government’s target of achieving $5 billion in furniture exports by 2030.
Commenting on the budget, he said the federal government is deploying targeted initiatives to promote the export of world-class, hand-engraved furniture. The incentive package, he added, will open new avenues for foreign investment and foster collaboration with global partners. He also noted that skill development centers will be upgraded with the active participation of the PFC to align workforce capabilities with international standards. In addition, the budget places special emphasis on research and development to support the creation of new furniture brands that can compete in global markets.
Mian Kashif further announced that, following the positive steps taken in the budget, the PFC will organize single-country furniture expos in major international markets, particularly in the Gulf region, in collaboration with the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP).
