FAISALABAD, Sep 09 (APP):Faisalabad Development Authority (FDA) Director General Muhammad Asif Chaudhry met citizens under the Government of Punjab’s Open Door Policy and listened in detail to their various issues, complaints and applications.
Citizens from different areas submitted applications regarding various FDA-related matters including approval of building plans and commercialization of properties, property-related issues, housing schemes, development matters and other concerns.
After reviewing the citizens’ complaints, FDA Director General sought reports from the concerned officers on the spot and directed them to complete action on actionable applications and complaints to redress them on priority basis within the stipulated time frame.
Speaking on the occasion, he said that the basic objective of the Punjab Government’s Open Door Policy is to reduce gap between the public and government institutions, provide citizens with an opportunity for direct access and hearing, and ensure timely resolution of their problems.
He further said that FDA administrative system is being continuously monitored to ensure the provision of better and transparent services to citizens.
Modern technology and one-window facilities are also being utilized at FDA to further simplify official procedures, enabling citizens to access maximum services under one roof, he added.
He directed the FDA officers to ensure tangible progress on citizens’ applications instead of merely completing formalities and to dispose of every application promptly and strictly on merit in accordance with the prescribed rules and regulations.
He made it clear that negligence, unnecessary delays or the practice of forcing citizens to make unnecessary visits to offices in connection with the resolution of their problems would not be tolerated under any circumstances.
He also appealed to citizens to approach the relevant forums for resolution of their issues and refrain from relying on illegal means or irrelevant individuals.
FDA would continue to extend possible cooperation for resolution of citizens’ legitimate grievances. It will further make the process of public service delivery more effective, expeditious and transparent, he added.
Director IT/Deputy Director Administration Yasir Ajaz Chattha and other officers were also present on the occasion.
