FAISALABAD, Oct 07 (APP):Director General (DG) Faisalabad Development Authority (FDA), Muhammad Asif Chaudhary, has directed FDA officers to take strict action against illegal commercialization within all residential colonies under FDA jurisdiction.
Presiding over a meeting on Tuesday, he warned that properties converted for commercial use without proper approval would be sealed, and legal cases would be filed in the court of the Special Judicial Magistrate.
He emphasized that unauthorized commercialization results in financial loss to the government exchequer, violates building by-laws, and disrupts organized town planning. “Such violations must be discouraged with zero tolerance,” he asserted. He further cautioned that any staff member found complicit in facilitating these irregularities during inspections would face strict disciplinary measures.
DG Chaudhary instructed officers to keep field staff active and ensure regular inspections of all buildings within their jurisdiction. He also directed that property owners seeking to convert residential units into commercial establishments be properly guided, and their applications processed promptly to avoid unnecessary delays.
He stressed that officers must strictly adhere to relevant laws while reviewing commercialization applications and immediately inform applicants if their property falls within a zone where commercialization is prohibited.
Furthermore, he ordered the full recovery of all outstanding commercialization fees and dues. Chronic defaulters and those ignoring official notices should face stern legal action, including property sealing, without hesitation or discrimination.
The meeting was attended by Director Town Planning Asma Mohsin, Director Estate Management Junaid Munj, Director IT Yasir Ijaz Chattha, and other officials.
