FDA collects revenue of Rs.73.5 million last fiscal year
FAISALABAD, Jul 28 (APP):The Faisalabad Development Authority (FDA) has received Rs 73.5 million as commercial charges during the ongoing special campaign against illegal commercialization in last financial year.
Out of this amount, Rs 24.4 million was recovered in the final three months—April, May and June—reflecting the success of an effective administrative strategy, continuous monitoring and the dedicated performance of field teams.
These figures were shared during a review meeting chaired by Director General FDA Muhammad Asif Chaudhry.
During the meeting, Director Town Planning-I, Afnan Saeed Sandhu, gave a detailed briefing on the ongoing campaign against illegal commercialization, enforcement actions taken and the recovery of outstanding dues.
Expressing satisfaction over the encouraging recovery of commercialization charges, FDA Director General directed that the campaign against illegal commercialization should continue without any relaxation.
He stressed that indiscriminate legal action must be taken against all violators to ensure that revenue recovery targets for the current financial year are achieved more effectively.
Muhammad Asif Chaudhry further instructed that applications seeking the commercial use of residential properties should be processed promptly to facilitate citizens in a timely manner, ensure that all matters remain within the legal framework and discourage illegal commercialization.
He also directed that unnecessary departmental hurdles in commercialization cases be removed while ensuring strict compliance with the government’s policies, rules and regulations governing the conversion of residential properties into commercial use.
He warned that no violations would be tolerated in areas where commercialization is prohibited.
FDA Director General further instructed field officers to continue regular surveillance and inspections, promptly identify illegal commercial activities and initiate immediate legal action.
He also emphasized that all available resources should be utilized to maximize revenue generation.
He reaffirmed that the FDA is committed to providing transparent, efficient and lawful services to citizens, while ensuring the protection of urban planning principles through effective measures to curb illegal commercialization.
The meeting concluded with a renewed commitment to continue the special campaign with full vigor to eliminate illegal commercialization and strengthen revenue generation.
