PESHAWAR, May 31 (APP):Frontier Customs Agents Association (FCAA) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa President, Zia-ul-Haq Sarhadi led a delegation of the association to meet the newly appointed Collector Customs Appraisement Peshawar, Azood Ul Mehdi at Customs House Peshawar.
The delegation included association’s office bearers including Senior Vice President Khalid Shahzad, Vice President Imtiaz Ahmed Ali, General Secretary Mian Waheed Bacha and Executive Members Farooq Ahmed, Mansoor Ahmed, Tariq Khan Afridi, Nizam Shah, Aamir Raza, Tanveer Ahmed and Javed Khan.
FCAA President, Zia-ul-Haq Sarhadi congratulated Azood Ul Mehdi on his appointment as Collector Customs Appraisement Peshawar and said that his appointment to this important post is highly appreciated by the business community.
Ziaul Haq Sarhadi, who is also Senior Vice President of Pak-Afghan Joint Chamber of Commerce and Industry and member Executive Committee of Sarhadi Chamber, said that Azood Ul Mehdi was well informed about the obstacles faced by Pak-Afghan bilateral trade, especially the problems of the exporters, importers and customs agents community.
During discussion, FCAA demanded abolition of the faceless assessment system because this system is causing a lot of difficulties to business people as well as customs clearing agents.
On this occasion, the senior officials of the Customs were also informed in detail about the steps taken and the role of the Frontier Customs Agents Association Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to solve the problems of the business community.
Zia said that Collector Customs, Peshawar Azood Ul Mehdi has held several important positions in the past and paid attention to the problems of the business community besides playing key role in resolving them.
He expressed hope that Azood Ul Mehdi will take practical steps to immediately resolve the problems of the business community, especially the obstacles to Pak-Afghan bilateral trade, including the difficulties in the export process at the Ghulam Khan, Kharlachi, Angor Adda, Torkham borders, and the fully functionalization of the Azakhel Dry Port.
