Farah Naz visits NAPA, vows support for institutional growth

KARACHI, Jul 09 (APP):Parliamentary Secretary for National Heritage and Culture, Farah Naz Akbar, visited the National Academy of Performing Arts (NAPA) on Wednesday where she reviewed facilities including theatres, classrooms, and music studios, and interacted with students and faculty.
Warmly welcomed by the NAPA faculty, Farah Naz was briefed on the Academy’s 20-year journey since its founding by the late Zia Mohyeddin. She was informed that NAPA currently offers diplomas in Theatre and Music, and is seeking approval from the Higher Education Commission (HEC) to initiate a degree program.
The Parliamentary Secretary assured the Academy of her full support and pledged to work closely with HEC to explore legal pathways for accreditation. She also acknowledged that the Sindh Government had allotted a building to NAPA for a 30-year term and promised efforts toward securing a permanent facility for the institution.
Commending Pakistan’s artistic talent, she praised NAPA’s role in nurturing young artists and encouraged the academy to expand its reach nationwide.
The visit concluded with the presentation of a memento to Farah Naz by NAPA faculty.
